Fellow Rotarians
As you know, our Club is managing the re-staining of Kids Own Playground after several years of enthusiastic use by local kids and families. The infrastructure is looking a little ‘down at heal’!
Most of the ‘grunty’ work, like water blasting and staining is being done by contractors and PD people from Corrections. However, apart from coordinating the project, our role is to prepare the playground for the work. This involves raking bark away from the fences, cutting back plants and vegetation and removing signage before staining starts. We may also be asked to help with moving in the security fencing to separate off the first one third of the playground.
The plan is to have a brief working bee from 9:00am to say 11:00am on Monday 14th October. So, we are looking for 6 or 8 volunteers, the more the merrier.
If you can come, please bring a rake, a spade, a pair of secateurs and perhaps a wheelbarrow. I will have screwdrivers and other tools to remove signage.
If you can help, please give me a call or reply by email.
