Rotary Youth Driver Awareness programme ( RYDA)

5 more volunteers needed.

It is that time of year again when our clubs have the opportunity to provide volunteer support for this outstanding Road Safety Education Programme.
Masterton South Rotary has been allocated Wednesday 27th March  and 8 volunteers are required from 8.30 -> approximately 3pm for that day.
The volunteer role is really to accompany groups of students around each of the 6 workshops to ensure a smooth flow for the day.
Teachers will also be with these school groups and have direct responsibility for student matters such as discipline etc;
All briefing takes place at the venue ( Solway Showgrounds )by Pearl Newman of the Road Safety Council.
Those who have volunteered on previous years will remember Pearl. She does a superb job.
Lunch is provided for volunteers, teachers and facilitators. Prior requests for dietary allergies etc need to be notified  - see Freya.
Freya will be overseeing the catering and needs a helper/s in the kitchen on Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th.This will be from 8.30 -> just after 1pm.
Also please let Freya know if you can provide food for morning tea and a bit extra for lunch. E.g. muffins, scones, slices, bacon/ egg pie, quiche.
 Derek Milne is our club RYDA coordinator so please let him know asap of your availability for the 27th
The programme cannot operate without Rotary support.
Thanks to the generosity of our club who have made an ongoing financial commitment to sponsor aspects of the programme.

Many thanks for your anticipated support
Freya Kerr,

Relay For Life at the Clareville Showgrounds in Carterton starting on Saturday, 16 March 2019 is a fun overnight fundraising event for the Cancer Society that brings communities together to celebrate and remember the lives of those who have been affected by cancer.

This inspiring community event gives everyone a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and carers; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back by raising awareness and funds to support the work of Cancer Society. Relay For Life is for people of all ages and fitness levels - anyone can take part!

It involves teams of people who walk or run around a track. In a relay style, each team needs to have at least one participant on the track throughout the event.

Masterton South Rotary would like to have a presence at this event, can you spare a couple of hours, or give a donation to the Cancer Society. It is proposed that we will have a BBQ between 6-7 pm so if you can help please contact Juliet Palmer. palmer.halasz@xtra.co.nz
